  15. Ever felt that your ISP doesn't give you enough web space ? Or none at all ?
  16. Or maybe you would like to have some more anyway ? Or would like a site
  17. that is stored on your hard drive, so that its easy to update ?
  18. Using your Amiga as a webserver has always been very simple. AWS from
  19. Omnipresence does the job amazingly well.

  21. However, one problem still remains. For most people, each time their
  22. Amiga connects to the Internet, their hostname changes, hence the
  23. address of their Web Site changes.
  24.  
  25. This problem on its own removes just about any possibility of hosting
  26. your own web site. That is, until now.

  28. DynamicRedirection gives your dynamic site a static url. For example,
  29. to access my local site that is stored on my harddrive, install the 3K
  30. executable called DynamicRedirection and goto
  31. http://www.innotts.co.uk/~nicholas/pcomm.dyn. After a couple of seconds,
  32. you will (assuming I'm online) be staring at my very own Web Site,
  33. served from my very own computer. Neat huh ? :-)

  37. This program handles connecting your browser to a dynamic IP
  38. as transparently as possible. No downloaded code is run on your
  39. machine whatsoever, (unlike OpenApp) so it is safe, small,
  40. and quick. (Standard Disclaimer thou')

  42. Basically, on a static web site, a file will be placed.
  43. This tells DynamicRedirection where to find the real IP that
  44. you want to go to. This is done var a finger site, then lines
  45. down and words across. Eg, if you want MY IP, finger
  46. nicholas@arnold.innotts.co.uk, count 3 lines down, 9 words
  47. across and you've found it. The .DYN file also contains
  48. an html page that is shown file its finding your new IP, so
  49. that the user knows its working.
